Trailer electrical accessories connect the lighting and other circuits of a towing vehicle to a trailer or semi-trailer. The range includes 7-pin and 13-pin sockets and plugs, compact adapters between the two formats, coiled extension cables and wiring testers. Voltage converters with several connector combinations allow a 24V truck to operate a 12V trailer. For trailers with LED lamps, CANBUS adapters can simulate the load of conventional bulbs and reduce vehicle error messages. Before choosing, identify the system voltage, connector on the vehicle and trailer, number of pins and the applicable standard, such as ISO 1724, ISO 11446, ISO 1185 or ISO 12098. For converters, check the maximum power; for cables, check the length, number of cores and pin assignment. Protect the contacts against moisture and test every lighting function after installation.
