LCD monitors for dashboards and headrests

In-vehicle LCD monitors display video from a reversing camera, media player or another source with a composite-video output. The category includes 7- and 9-inch monitors designed for dashboard mounting; a selected 7-inch model can also be recessed into a headrest using the supplied frame. The monitors provide two RCA video inputs, support PAL and NTSC signals and, depending on the model, operate from 12V or 12/24V vehicle systems. A trigger wire can automatically switch the display when reverse gear is selected. Before choosing, check the required mounting method, screen size and overall dimensions, vehicle voltage, number and type of video inputs, and the video standard of the connected camera. Secure the monitor so it does not obstruct the driver’s view or interfere with airbags, route cables away from moving components and protect the power circuit with a correctly rated fuse.
