Glass cartridge fuses

Glass cartridge fuses protect electrical circuits against overcurrent and allow visual inspection of the fuse element. The range includes 5 × 20 mm and 6.3 × 32 mm sizes with current ratings from 2 to 20 A, depending on the selected size. A replacement must match not only the current rating but also the physical dimensions and fuse characteristic specified by the equipment manufacturer. Never substitute a higher current rating or bypass a fuse; this does not repair the fault and can damage wiring or equipment. Disconnect the power before replacement, identify the reason for the blown fuse, and check that the holder contacts are clean and tight. Install the fuse in a holder rated for the required current and voltage and position circuit protection as close to the power source as practical.

Choose a matching fuse holder for safe installation. For other applications, see resettable circuit breakers and torpedo fuses for older vehicles.
