Automotive power circuit breakers

Automotive circuit breakers protect low-voltage power circuits against overcurrent and short circuits and can be reused after the fault is removed. The range includes 5 to 30 A bimetal blade breakers as resettable replacements for corresponding MIDI fuses, plus standalone high-current breakers rated from approximately 30 to 300 A. Several housing styles are available, including flush-mount versions. Lower ratings suit individual accessories, while higher-current models are intended for main feeds and demanding installations. Always choose the breaker rating according to the conductor’s maximum safe capacity and the protected equipment requirements, not only normal operating current. Also check the system voltage, cable cross-section and length, terminal type, mounting space and the trip characteristics of the exact model. Fit the breaker as close to the power source as practical and always remove the cause of the trip before resetting it.
